Begin to weave and God will give the thread.

Do good and throw it into the sea — if it is not appreciated by an ungrateful man, it will be appreciated by God.

Don’t try to get blood from a locust; God didn’t put it in there.

God’s goal will be achieved when everyone is content with himself.

God bless him who pays visits — short visits.

God delays but doesn’t forget.

God doesn’t give more beards than soap.

God does not love those who have not suffered.

God does not pay every Saturday.

God does not pay weekly, but He pays at the end.

God gave us hands but He doesn’t build bridges with them.

God gives, but he doesn’t sell.

God gives all birds their food but does not drop it into their nests.

God gives but does not lock the gate.

God gives every bird his worm, but he does not throw it into the nest.

God gives nothing to those who keep their arms crossed.

God gives the nuts, but He does not crack them.

God grant us no neighbor with two eyes.

God who made the mouth will provide the food.

God has spared the naked man from washing his clothes with soap.

God heals, but the doctor gets paid.

God is a busy worker but loves to be helped.

God is always where we don’t look for him.

God is good, but not crazy.

God is not without sins: He created the world.

God knows what will happen to women who drink wine, girls that speak old languages, and suns that set too early.

God pardons the ignorant.

God postpones, he does not overlook.

God promises a safe landing but not a calm passage.

God will help a seaman in a storm but the pilot must still remain at the wheel.

God writes straight even on wavy lines.

Help yourself and God will help you.

He who doesn’t speak will get no help from God.

He who leaves his people will be left by God.

He who wants what God wants of him will lead a free and happy life.

If God were not forgiving, heaven would be empty.

If it were God’s will, you could shoot with a broom too.

If the devil is your godfather you will be welcome in hell.

If you light one candle for God, then you must light two for the devil.

If you want to know what God thinks of money, look at the people he gives it to.

Make do with bread and butter until God can bring you jam.

Man does what he can, God does what he will.

Once you have found your rhythm, you will then know your God.

Pray for revenge, and God will turn a deaf ear.

Some men wonder over God’s values, others over the cut of a garment.

Stand away from dwarfs, for it’s God who hit them on the head.

The God who gave us teeth will also give us bread.

The farmer hopes for rain, the walker hopes for sunshine, and the gods hesitate.

The opportunity that God sends does not wake up him who is asleep.

The plant God favors will grow even without rain.

True poverty does not come from God.

When God shuts one door, He opens another.

Who God does not teach, man cannot.

Why should I shave when God doesn’t?

When the thief has stolen from a thief, God laughs in heaven.
